Making an Appointment
For appointments at our downtown location at Nelson Clinic, 401 N. 11th Street, 7th Floor, Room 7-100, please call (804) 628-4368.
To make an appointment at our Massey Cancer Center office, located at 401 College St., Richmond, Va. 23298-0037, please call (804) 828-9447 if you are a new patient, or (804) 828-7999 if you are an established patient.
For appointments at our Stony Point location in the Richmond Medical Commons at 8700 Stony Point Parkway , 2nd floor, Suite 220 , please call (804) 323-0830.
To make an appointment in our new Colonial Heights office at 2035 Waterside Drive, Suite 100, please call (804) 957-MCVP(6287).

Referrals from your primary care physician are required for most visits since we are specialists. The exceptions to this are difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, and suspicious tissue masses. It is helpful to bring copies of your pertinent medical records and tests with you on your first visit. Or you can fax them to (804) 828 8299 with a cover letter stating the date of your appointment. Please bring your actual X0ray films with you if at all possible.
For patients with a cancer diagnosis, please fax your records to (804) 828-0217 with a cover letter stating the date of your appointment.
For Smell & Taste patients, please fax your records to (804) 828-0217 with a cover letter and a nurse will call you to set up your appointment.
We accept most insurance plans as well as self-pay patients. Please be sure to bring your current insurance card and photo identification with you to each visit. Co-payments are collected when you check in. Self-pay patients are required to pay at the time of service. If you have no health insurance and have limited financial resources, please visit our financial screening department before scheduling a visit to see if you qualify for assistance. Their telephone number is 828 - 0996. Please keep in mind that it may take 6 - 8 weeks for the financial screening process to be completed once our financial counselors receive all required information.

It is important that you let us know if you will have trouble paying your bill or balances after insurance.
The VCU Health System provides financial assistance to patients based on their income, assets, and needs. In addition, we may be able to help you get free or low-cost health insurance or work with you to arrange a manageable payment plan. A financial counselor may be reached (804) 828-0966
